17th May 2011 - New improved Database of Practice launched on the Vitae website

Following feedback from the sector, Vitae has revisited the Database of Practice to make it more user friendly for those wishing to contribute case studies and for those searching for examples of good practice. It is faster, more searchable and current.

Improvements to the database include enhancements to the navigation of the database, an auto-save function while adding practices, and the introduction of the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) that encourages users to explore the wide variety of practice that exists in UK higher education institutions.

Practice owners have also contributed to the improvements by updating relevant entries to reflect their current practice and mapping them against the RDF. Older practices relating to institutional Roberts reporting have been archived. Upon launch, the new Database of Practice now holds 376 examples of practice.

UK higher education institutions are invited to add more examples of exemplary or innovative practice that will add to a rich collection representing the high quality provision of researcher development in the UK.

For more information, please visit the database or alternatively contact Vitae by email at website@vitae.ac.uk.
